There are a number of things to look for when choosing the USMLE Step 1 lecture notes to review:

  • A recent publication date
  • Trustworthy author
  • Scribe notes or faculty note packets?
  • Recommended from upper levels?
  • Purpose of the notes – strategically select resources depending on the phase of the exam cycle
    • Content review
    • Practice questions
    • Practice tests
